 My First Wrestling Tournament
I wrestled in my very first tournament today. It was so much fun. I couldn't help but smile through the whole thing. Dad kept telling me to stop smiling. He said on the mat those kids aren't my friend and I need to show them my angry face. But I couldn't help it. I was having so much fun.

My first match wasn't so good. The kid pinned me in 9 seconds. I was pretty upset about it, but dad told me to shake it off and he gave me some pointers.

My second match was much better. I didn't win [in fact I didn't even get any points], but I got to wrestle the whole match. The kids beat me 7 to 0. I was still pretty upset after that match too. In fact I refused to shake the kids hand, but mom and dad forced me. Then I got the speech from mom about how there is no crying wrestling. And dad reminded me that at least I didn't get pinned. So I'm getting better every time. I felt better then.

My first wrestling match

I finally scored some points in my third match. And I didn't get pinned. I lost 8 to 2, but at least I scored. I didn't even get upset after that match. Mom and dad were right. I am getting better each time.

After all of that I got an award for coming in fourth place in my bracket. It's a really awesome metal. I LOVE wrestling.

 Well Rounded Athlete
Tonight was a busy sports day for me.

First, we played our last soccer game of the season. And I scored a goal. I am really getting good at soccer. I go after the ball and I'm not afraid to kick the ball. I even put a lot of strength behind my kicks. I can't wait for the spring season.

We each got metals. We can wear them around our necks. It a spinning soccer ball on the end of it. They are so cool. Mom is going to take a picture of both me and Skyler with our metals so I can post it here.

Immediately following soccer, I went to my very first wrestling practice. First we sat through a kind of boring meeting. Mom and dad seemed interested, but I was a little bored. Then they took me to the new wrestling room in the high school. It was awesome. And we did a bunch of drills. We also did some relays. We got in to four groups and we each did somersaults until we got to the end of the mat. Then we ran back and touched off for the next teammate to go. After that relay, we did another one where we army crawled all the way to the end of the mat. We couldn't use our legs at all. Only our elbows. Then we bear crawled back to our team. It was so awesome. I can't wait for my next wrestling practice.

 Soccer Star
I got my very first goal today. And I rocked it. We were clear down by our goal when I got control of the ball. I kicked it hard and got it out of the group of kids. Then I ran after it with all my might. I just kept kicking it and chasing it until I got close to their goal. I was ahead of the pack the whole time. Then I gave it one final kick right in to the goal. It was so awesome. I looked over at mom, dad, Grandma O and Aunt Candy and I could just see how proud they were of me. I had a huge smile on my face. Mom gave me a thumbs up so I gave her one right back. It was so cool. This is the just beginning. I know I will score more goals before the season ends.

 Whole New Ballgame
What a difference a week makes. Both Skyler & I were so much better at this weeks soccer game. I think it was a combination of us finally being the routine of going to bed early and spending all day at school plus the fact that Grandma O and Aunt Candy came to watch us play. I kept waving at them and they were waving back. And I could hear them cheering me on as I was running down the field. I was a wildman today. I was kicking the ball all over the place. I even got to throw the ball in from the side. It was awesome. I had so much fun. And there was no crying this time.

Who Knew There Was So Much Crying In Soccer
Skyler and I had our very first soccer game today. It didn't go too well. Both of us were starters in the game. And at first it was good. But then our coach made us sit on the sidelines. He wanted us to take turns with the other players and we only have four players on the field at a time. Neither Skyler nor I liked being on the sidelines. We wanted to be on the field playing. So we both started crying. I think we were both really tired from a full day of school. And we are still trying to get used to our new bedtime schedule.

But after a while the coach put me back in. And I was running after the ball like a madman. I really like soccer. It's a lot of fun. I was frustrated when the coach put me back on the sidelines. But he put me back in the game again too. I just need to learn to take turns. I'll get the hang of this. Eventually.

 First Day of Kindergarten
I've been waiting for this day for a very long time. It's the first day of school. And I had a fantastic day. My teacher took a few pictures of me. These first two are in the cafeteria before school. We waited there until it was time to go to our kindergarten room and start learning.

After waiting and talking and coloring for a while, our teacher took us to our new kindergarten room. I knew right where my room was because I remembered from Open House on Monday. And all of my school supplies were still there waiting for me.

I had so much fun meeting my new friends and learning. We talked about our gingerbread men that we made at Open House. He went missing, but he left clues for us all over the school. So we explored the school looking for him.

We also went to the library and I checked out my very first school book. I'm going to have mom read it to me and Skyler tonight before we go to bed.

I had so much fun today. I told mom that my class is the best kindergarten class. Skyler disagreed, but I know it's true. I can't wait to go back tomorrow.

 My Busy, Busy Day
Today was really exciting.

First, I got to go back to school. And this time we went inside. I got to meet my teacher again. She is so nice. And I got to see where I will be sitting when we start school on Thursday. I'm at the head of the table. How exciting.

While mom put all of my school supplies away, I colored a gingerbread man. My teacher said that we are going to do something with that gingerbread man on the first day of school. I colored him and clued on some buttons and foam pieces. It was a lot of fun.

Besides my gingerbread man I had some homework. I'm so happy about my homework. I've been wanting homework for weeks. My homework is a crown which I need to color and a brown paper lunch sack. Apparently I get to put five things from home in to the sack. And then when I come back to school I will be king for a day. On that day I will get to wear my crown and show off my five items. I can't wait.

One of the little girls that sits next to me was there too. Her name is Alicia. She said hi to me. I was a little shy and I didn't say anything back. But mom pressured me in to a "hi" eventually. Then Alicia said "my name is Alicia." Apparently she thought I didn't hear here cause she said it again. I still didn't say anything though. I don't even know that girl. I just looked down at the table. Then she said it a first time. I finally said "I heard you" kind of snotty. Mom told me I need to be nicer to people and I should have told her my name. Apparently mom doesn't understand what it means to be shy.

Just when I was starting to get in the groove of my classroom, mom told me it was time to go. I was really upset because I didn't get to play. Mom told me I got to come back on Thursday, but that wasn't good enough. I wanted to play now. My teacher saw me crying and came over to see what was wrong. She knew right away that I didn't want to leave. She gave me a big hug and told me we would have lots of fun things to do when I come back on Thursday. So I decided that would be fun and I decided to go with mom.

We had to leave school so early because we had our very first soccer practice ever. There are five girls (including Skyler) and four boys (including me) on our soccer team. We had practice for a half an hour. It was really fun. We took turns kicking the ball and I even got the ball in the goal. I'm so good. :)

After all that excitment, I was exhausted when I got home. Good thing I still have three days to get rested before my first day of school.

 Kindergarten Playdate
Today I got to meet some of my new kindergarten friends. The PTO at my school hosted a playdate at the big playground behind our school. It was awesome. I got to meet my teacher and she took this picture of me.

Spencer on the slide

I also met a whole bunch of boys. They are my new friends. I can't wait to come back to school on Thursday.

 Boldly Go...
We had our very first preschool field trip today. We went to the apple orchard. It was so much fun. First, we got to ride a school bus. I have never ridden a school bus before. It was pretty cool. Although mom made me sit with my stinky sister. I wanted to sit with mom.

Then we got to the orchard and there were tons and tons of trees. This nice lady told us all about the trees. Some of the trees had big dents in them because back in June they had a hail storm with golf ball sized hail. And that hail left those big dents in the apples. She said they were still good. They just didn't look very pretty.

We walked over to some trees ready for picking and we got to pick our own apple. Mom lifted me up so I could reach the best apple. There weren't very many apples down low because the deer had gotten in and eaten them already. Our apples didn't look all shiny like they look in the store. So the lady told us to polish them. To polish the apples we rubbed them on our shirt and our pants. It was fun.

As we were eating our apples we looked at a few more trees. They even had pear trees. The lady told us that they pick pears before they are ripe. And then they sit for a few days and ripen up. My pears usually just come in a can with some pear juice so I didn't know that.

They also had goats. But the goats didn't know the difference between food and fingers. So we needed to stay back a little bit. One of the goats stuck is head out of the fence. I reached up to pet him, but some woman told me to get back. She scared me when she told me that so I went back to stand with mom. I just wanted to pet him. But it's probably good that I didn't. I wouldn't want him to eat my finger.

In the barn we got to see a real apple polisher. It's a big, loud machine. The apples go on this little moving belt thing. First they get sprayed with water. Then they bounce around on sponges. Finally they drop down to a table for packaging. It was pretty nifty.

After all that we got to ride the bus back to school. Mom, Skyler & I played a tickle game. And Skyler told us a bunch of riddles that she made up. She's funny.

So my very first field trip was a huge success. I had a great time and can't wait to eat more apples.

 Wrestling Match
Keaton and I were wrestling in the living room in a big cardboard box. Then Keaton started to play dirty and he knocked my legs out from under me. I knocked my head on the corner of the wall in between the kitchen and the living room. It hurt really, really bad. Dad held me and mom got a wet washcloth. After they cleaned it up a little they could see a cut in the back left side of my head. It was about 1 cm in size. It was throbbing and bleeding like crazy.

Mom called the Dr. Fox (the doctor on call) and he told her to take me to the emergency room. So off we went.

I held the washcloth on my head the whole way there. And it seemed to help because I was feeling a lot better by the time we got to the hospital. I was running around in the waiting room. I even scouted on my back on the floor. But then while I was resting I put my head back on the chair. I laid the left side of my head on the chair and instantly remembered why I was at the hospital. It hurt.

When we got in to the room, the nurses bound me up in a sheet so I couldn't move my arms. That was kind of scary, but my mom was there with me so I knew I was going to be okay. Then they gave me a shot in my head to numb it. OWWW!! I immediately burst in to tears and hollered, "I can't take it anymore." From that point forward every time they touched my head I screamed. I was worried they were going to poke me with a needle again. But it turns out they put two stitches in there and I didn't even feel it.

Once they were done, we got to leave. Mom was supposed to go to a candle party at Aunt Candy's house. I was feeling much better so we decided to stop by. Even though we were really late. I got to show everybody my stitches. It was way cool.

 An Apple A Day
I visited Dr. Hayes again today so he could recheck my ears. I've been feeling much better since my last visit. And sure enough my ear infection is gone. Plus I have no fever. I thought that was a good thing until they told me I was going to get shots since my fever was gone. Shots?!? Nobody told me there was going to be shots. But I handled it like a pro. I cried a little bit, but mommy gave me my pacificer and a big hug and I felt much better.

 Two Month Checkup
Skyler and I went to see Dr. Hayes again today. This time it was for our two month checkup.

They weighed me again. It's been a while since I've been weighed. Now I am 13 pounds 10 ounces and I am 22 3/4 inches long. My head is 39 1/2 cm around. Mom says I'm growing like a weed.

My dry skin has moved from my hands and feet to my face. My cheeks are really bad. It's really itchy. Dr. Hayes said it's eczema. He told mommy to put Cortaid on my cheeks a couple times a day. So hopefully that will help because it looks awful.

Dr. Hayes looked in my ears and it turns out I have an ear infection. I'm not surprised. Daddy was really sick on Tuesday. He has a temperature of 104.6. Mommy had to take him to the emergency room. They told daddy he was dehydrated and had pneumonia in his left lung. So daddy was really sick. And at today's visit, Dr. Hayes looked in mommy's ears and she has an ear infection in both of her ears. So Dr. Hayes prescribed amoxicillian. It's some weird pink stuff. But it doesn't taste too bad so that's good.

 Nighty Night
Last night mommy fed me at 8:30pm and laid me down for bed. She tried to wake me up at 11pm to eat again, but I wasn't having it. I had just eaten 2 1/2 hours ago. My tummy was still full. And I was really tired. I didn't wake up until 5:45am. Mommy was amazed. I'm only a month old and I'm already sleeping through the night. And this wasn't just a one time thing. For over a week I have been sleeping about six to seven hours at a time during the night.

 Stuffy Nose
I have my first little cold. I have a little stuffy nose. Mommy put these icky Ayr drops in to my nose. I didn't like that at all. I tried to move my head away, but she still got me. Mommy also elevated my mattress a little bit and ran the vaporizer in my room all night. Even with my cold I only woke every three hours. I hope I start feeling better soon.
