 Stuffy Nose
I have my first little cold. I have a little stuffy nose. Mommy put these icky Ayr drops in to my nose. I didn't like that at all. I tried to move my head away, but she still got me. Mommy also elevated my mattress a little bit and ran the vaporizer in my room all night. Even with my cold I only woke every three hours. I hope I start feeling better soon.

 Sleeping Peacefully
Mommy has been tracking how long Skyler and I sleep at night. Skyler isn't sleeping so well. She's been down right cranky. But I've been sleeping really well. Last night I slept for five and a half hours. Then I woke every three hours. Mommy seemed to be pretty pleased with that.

 We Went Shopping?
We had our first official outing today. Mommy took us to the store. We went with mommy's friend, Necole, and our friend [Necole's daughter] Kaitlyn. Kaitlyn is exactly seven weeks older then us. So she can show us the ropes.

So anyway, mommy tells me I slept she put my car seat in the shopping cart and Skyler's car seat in the seat part of the shopping cart. I say "mommy tells me" because I slept through the whole outing. I missed the whole thing. Man, we better leave the house again sometime. And somebody better wake me up next time.

 No More Cord
I almost forgot the funniest part of my doctor's visit. When the nurse, Debbie, was weighing me she took off my diaper. And as she took it off it kind of tugged on my dry umbilical cord. That little tug knocked my cord loose and it fell in to my diaper. Debbie looked down at my diaper and did a little double take. She thought it was a little turd at first and she was shocked that at just two weeks old my poop would be that solid. Mommy and Debbie both laughed.

 Two Weeks Already?
We got to see Dr. Hayes again today. We had our two week appointment. Can you believe we are already two weeks old?

Guess what the nurse Debbie did? She weighed us. Imagine that. I weighed 8 pounds 1 ounce. Debbie also measured us. I am 20 inches long and my head is 36 centimeters around.

Both Skyler and I have very dry skin. Especially on our feet and our fingers. Dr. Hayes suggested mommy rub Eucerin lotion on us. That sounds like a massage every day for me so I'm excited.

Dr. Hayes took another look at my tongue tie issue. He said it's pretty minor and he's not going to clip it or anything. [Clip it?!? Thank goodness it's not very bad, because I don't like the sound of "clip."] Dr. Hayes said in the future if I have trouble with speech they may look at it again, but he doesn't think my speech will be a problem.

Other then all that, I'm a very healthy boy. Mommy has stopped breastfeeding. It was just to overwhelming for her. I'm ok with it. I like the bottle and I like the Enfamil. I still love you mommy.

 Better Flow
Mommy bought us some new bottles today. She got the Johnson's Healthflow bottles. The nipples are a little bigger, but I figured it out right away. I gobbled down four ounces of formula. I don't like to wait for my food, so these new nipples are perfect for me.

Off to the Hospital We Go...Again
Well here's a shocker. We went to the hospital today to be weighed. What has become of our lives? All we do is sleep, potty, eat and get weighed. Life outside of mommy's tummy is really pretty boring. I hope it gets better soon.

So today I weighed 7 pounds 7 1/2 ounces. So I'm on the right track. Up! Mommy's milk still hasn't come in and she is getting rather frustrated. The lactation consultant suggested mommy take Phenugreek. It's some natural herb that's supposed to help with milk production. She is supposed to take three tablets, three times a day. The nurse also told mommy to pump as much as she can and feed up with a bottle if we wont suck on the nipple. Mommy is on the verge of giving up though. I can tell she is really tired. It takes her a long time to pump and we like to eat a lot during the day. But mommy is still trying to do her best. You go mommy!

 Smiley Face
Oh how I love massages. Mommy massages my legs and my arms and my belly a few times a day. Today, mommy was massaging my legs and I gave her a really big smile. It's the first time she's seen me smile and she said it really melted her heart. She's such a sap.

 Finally, some good news...
We visited the hospital again today. I'm really getting sick of that place. They weighed me again. [What's new?] Well this time I have finally gained some weight. I weighed 7 pounds 2 1/2 ounces. Woo Hoo! Since mommy's milk still hasn't come in, the lactation consultant suggested she try the SNS system. The SNS system is some wired bottle looking thing that she clips to her shirt, up near her shoulder. Then this little tube comes down and she tapes it to her breast. That way when I suck I can get some food. Hopefully my sucking will stimulate some actual milk from mommy's breast. The nurse told mom to give me and Skyler two ounces of formula if she isn't using the SNS system and one ounce of formula when she does use the system. We'll give it a whirl.

 Sweet Dreams
Mommy fed me at 9:10pm last night and laid me down for bed. She tried to wake me up at midnight when she was going to bed, but I didn't budge. I was dreaming some good dreams and I wasn't hungry at all. So at 3am, after mommy was done feeding Skyler, she tried to wake me again. I wasn't very happy about it, but I woke up to eat then. That was six hours of uninterrupted sleep. Mommy was very pleased with me. Now if I can just teach Skyler how to do it.

 A New Friend
Carol, the Visiting Nurse stopped by today. She was really nice. She even massaged my legs a little bit. That was really nice. She weighed me on her little portable scale. I weighed 7 pounds 0 ounces. I just can't win here. Carol suggested that mommy start giving us two ounces of formula after feedings, instead of just one ounce. We'll see how that goes.

 Incredible Shrinking Baby
Mommy took us back to the hospital today to get weighed once again. These people are obsessed with our weight. I weighed 7 pounds 2 1/4 ounces. So I'm still losing weight. When we left the hospital yesterday the nurse asked mommy to start supplementing formula since her milk wasn't in yet. So mommy has been giving us one ounce of formula after every breast feeding. She hasn't been doing that for quite a full day though so the nurses are going to give it a few days before they weigh me again. They are sending the Visiting Nurse to my house in a few days for a recheck.

 Homeward Bound
We got to go home today. I'm so excited about getting in to the fresh air and seeing my house.

Dr. Hayes came to see Skyler and me. He told mom and dad that I look very healthy. But (I hate it when there's a but) he did notice I am a little tongue tied. Mom thought that was just a saying when somebody can't get the right words out, but it turns out it's a real medical condition. You know that little bit of skin that attaches the bottom of your mouth to your tongue. Well most people have a rather long, elastic strip of skin there, but I don't. Mine is short. So it's harder for me to stick out my tongue. I guess I'll never be able to touch the tip of my nose with my tongue.

So today when before we got to leave, Dr. Hayes took another little peak at me. He's not too concerned about my tongue, but he said we'll talk about it more at my two week appointment.

The nurse weighed me before they'd let me go. I weighed 7 pounds 2 3/4 ounces. So I'm losing weight. They get concerned when you lose 10% of your birth weight. I'm not there yet, but it's not far off. So the nurse asked my mommy to bring me in again tomorrow for another weighing. That should be fun. A little field trip.

 Hello World
Today is my birth day. I'm mean my actual, very first birth day. Read mommy's account of my birth in our Birth Story. I was born at 7:34pm, nineteen minutes after my twin sister, Skyler. I weighed 7 pounds 14 1/2 ounces and I measured 20 1/2 inches long.
